The Humane Society of Greater Miami

humaneSocietyAnimal lovers will definitely want to hear more about today’s foundation, The Humane Society of Greater Miami. The charitable animal welfare organization strives to find a loving home for every dog or cat in its care through the promotion of responsible pet ownership plus spaying and neutering programs. All pets are provided with shelter, veterinary care, and plenty of love and care while they wait to find their new home.

The Humane Society of Greater Miami has been assisting homeless animals across Miami-Dade County since 1936. Today, over 300 homeless animals are cared for and given a second chance to find homes with responsible and committed caregivers. The organization runs a pair of veterinary clinics in Cutler Bay and North Miami Beach that are focused on reducing pet overpopulation, performing over 11,000 sterilization surgeries every year. The organization also offers free services for the financially challenged, including spay/neuter programs.

More than 1,000 animals under the care of The Humane Society of Greater Miami end up finding human companions. Before the pets are put for adoption, they are thoroughly inspected to ensure they are healthy and have all of their vaccinations. Counseling and guidance is provided to ensure that the right pets are matched with the right home.
