We’re about to shed a little light on one of the most exclusive neighborhoods in the country: Fisher Island. This upscale island shares its name with the Fisher Island Philanthropic Fund which has set its sights on working with children that are grappling with developmental disabilities. At the same time, it also maintains a strong focus on rehabilitating juvenile offenders. The organization is a non-profit and its members are the people who call Fisher Island their home as well as individuals wishing to provide funds for charities that focus on children in need.
The Fisher Island Philanthropic Fund serves a number of organizations, including well-known names like the Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami, the United Way of Miami-Dade, Kesher Day School, the Barnyard in Coconut Grove, and Project Thrive. Project Thrive is an early intervention program for infants and toddlers that are also developmentally disabled.
